Rosie Perez Explains Her Beef With J. LO

We have known for a long time that there has been tension between Rosie Perez and Jennifer Lopez but now we can read about it directly from the source. Rosie Perez will be releasing her new memoir, Handbook for an Unpredictable Life and many are guessing that it is going to start a feud between the two Puerto Rican stars.

According to a recent article by the New York Post about the book, Rosie puts J. Lo on blast when explaining their history with each other.

Rosie met J. Lo for the first time in 1991 when she was casting for the show In Living Color. After seeing J. Lo, “Brooklynite Perez immediately noticed Bronx-born Jenny from the Block’s best asset, recalling her as a beautiful girl with a ‘big ass'” and convinced the reluctant Keenan Ivory Wayans to bring her in as one of the dancers as long as she cut her hair and lost 20-pounds.

From there it took a turn and J. Lo became a diva. The article states that Perez writes that Jenny dropped her “sweet girl act” and snapped on Perez like “some ghetto biatch, screaming and pounding her chest!”

After working on the show for two seasons, J.Lo quit and headed to Hollywood where she started to make it big. Perez states that while she thought everything was cool with the two, in fact it was not because Jenny was talking about her behind her back.

“I was blindsided. I’d thought we were cool. I called her up. She wouldn’t pick up. Frustrated, I left her an irate message on her answering machine. Instead of calling me back and hashing it out like friends do, she went on a major talk show and reiterated my lashing,”

Then months later, the two Boricuas ran into each other while partying.

“Jennifer came over to me, smiling, saying hello as if nothing had happened. I should’ve let it go, played it off, too. Instead, I killed her with my biting tongue,” Perez states.

There is still has been no comment about Perez’s side of the story from Jennifer Lopez, but we are sure that when the book comes out in a couple of days, we are going to hear a reply.
