Franco de Vita Is Getting A Billboard Hall of Fame Award

He has sold more than 25 million albums worldwide, hit the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart multiple times and now Franco de Vita is getting honored with a Hall of Fame Award by Billboard.

Billboard announced Monday that the 60-year-old Venezuelan pop/rock singer will receive his award at the upcoming 2014 Billboard Latin Music Awards. The award show will air live on Telemundo on April 24th at 7pm/6c and feature performances from Ricky Martin, Banda el Recodo and Luis Fonsi.

But just because Franco is getting a Hall of Fame Award does not mean he is going to slow down. He is currently planning his “Vuelve en Primera Fila” tour this Spring through Ecuador, Chile, Paraguay, Argentina, Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico. Unfortunately, he will not be making a stop to his home country of Venezuela due to the current political climate of the country. Franco took to his website and explained why he wouldn’t be visiting, “With the hope that my country achieves peace and harmony I hold the firm conviction that we will see each other soon,” he stated.
