Enrique Iglesias Raises Awareness For Typhoon Disaster Relief

Enrique Iglesias is using his platform of fame to help the victims of the devastating Typhoon Haiyan that hit the Philippines last week.

Many may not know this, but the world-renowned singer is half-Filipino. His mother is from Manila and this brings the whole disaster even closer to his heart. He has recently taken to Twitter to help the millions of homeless Filipinos by raising awareness for Haiyan disaster relief and Red Cross support efforts.

“HELP THE PHILIPPINES!” he tweeted. “People in the Philippines need our help right away! Please consider donating to Haiyan disaster relief. You’ll feel good that you did.”

So far the typhoon has claimed thousands of lives, devastated whole cities and left millions homeless.

Filipino-born rapper apl.de.ap from the Black Eyed Peas has also made moves to help typhoon survivors. He performed a charity concert in Phuket, Thailand on Sunday and the proceeds were donated to his Give2Asia charity.
