Armando Manzanero Being Honored With Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award

Mexican composer Armando Manzanero is being honored with a Lifetime Achievement award by the Grammys. While this is an amazing achievement on its own, what takes it to the next level is the news that he will be receiving this award alongside The Beatles.

The 78-year-old Manzanero is has been dubbed the “premier” Mexican composer of the post-war era and one of the best composers in Latin America. He began his career in the 1950s and has not stopped since with a library over 400 song compositions.

Other Lifetime Achievement Award recipients this year include the German band Kraftwerk, The Isley Brothers, violinist Maud Powell, Kris Kristofferson and Zydeco artist Clifton Chenier.
